Reviews and Ratings
Wairakei Resort offers a spacious and enjoyable experience, particularly with its fantastic Christmas lunch and comfortable infinity pools. However, while some areas of the resort have been well-maintained, certain aspects like staff friendliness and room condition could use improvement. Overall, it's a great place for a relaxing getaway, but certain details might not meet everyone’s expectations.
I've been visiting this hotel for many years and have always looked forward to the breakfast, but this time it was a letdown. While the rooms are spacious and clean, the breakfast experience was disappointing. They served it in the room due to restrictions, but the offering was limited, and the quality was subpar. On the positive side, the overall ambiance and the staff were pleasant, but I was shocked by the breakfast situation.
My stay at the resort was wonderful, with exceptional service that made us feel truly special. The facilities, especially the heated pools, were perfect for our family, but the rooms could use some modern updates. Overall, it's a great spot for families and offers good value for money.
Staying at the resort was quite a mixed bag for me. The location is absolutely lovely with beautiful grounds and plenty of outdoor activities available. The rooms, while generally clean, could benefit from air conditioning as the fan wasn't enough to cool them down during a hot spell. Overall, though some of the service aspects left a lot to be desired, particularly during peak dining hours, I appreciated the great amenities and the relaxing pool environment.
I found this resort to be an excellent escape. The staff were incredibly helpful and engaging, which made us feel well taken care of. While the location was peaceful and close to some great activities, I did notice that the carpets in our upgraded room were quite worn and could use some attention. Overall, it was a lovely experience, with a few minor quirks.
